Google Alerts is a great tool for finding out current information regarding a topic. In a nutshell,
Google alert does a web search for any updates on the Internet based on your keyword search.
For example, if you are creating and telling a story on the history of Zanesville, you can create a
Google Alert that looks for Zanesville History or Muskingum County History.
Google alert will search the web and send an email with hyper links to you. You can have the
alerts come one at a time, once a day, or once a week. After your work is complete, you can
then cancel the alert.
I like to keep an active alert on "Story Teller Festivals" to keep abreast of story teller activities.
